The news from the Cersaie exhibition 2018

The right balance between the bare essential and modern expressiveness characterizes the trends in the bathroom industry and the latest innovations presented at the 36th edition of the Cersaie fair 2018. The international exhibition of ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings has proved to be, as always, the real benchmark for those who pay attention to new and innovative home furnishing solutions to decorate their home. The minimalist concept also prevails in the collections of shower enclosures and trays. Shower enclosures are characterised by extra-transparent crystals and by increasingly thin metal frames or supports, a recurring feature that also concerns inset shower trays.

Sanitary ware with simple lines and frosted mixer taps

“Less is more” is the common thread that unites the collections of sanitary ware and tap ware with clean and stylish lines, small dimensions and modern self-cleaning and water-saving systems designed to ensure a high standard of hygiene. On the other hand, the bathtubs are so impressive that they leave a mark especially when they are equipped with a free-standing bath-shower mixer standpipe. This kind of tap, with a linear design, has a bath filler, a shower head and a spout designed to get a flowing jet of water. It is often proposed in a frosted finish by many companies, and sometimes, the matte stainless steel ousts the classic chrome-plated metal. The simple stylistic conceptuality of the furnishings finds expression and character in the materials they are made of, ranging from the traditional porcelain to synthetic compounds, proposed in various colours or combined with surfaces that reflect the texture of precious raw materials or the veining of stones like marble. In contrast, the colours range from the inevitable white to the unusual shades of black, blue or brown.

Wall and floor bathroom tiles

The bathroom claddings are produced more and more commonly, exploiting advanced, environmentally friendly technologies in order to combine great beauty and the right price for every product. The most important companies in this field have proposed stoneware floor and wall tiles inspired by precious marble, limestone or with an unusual cement-like optic effect and metallic stripes. Among the novelties, we count double-fired tiles inspired by the texture of silk in fashionable colours like golden yellow, white, pink, turquoise and dark grey.

Nolita and Barrel: the novelties by Kerasan

During the Cersaie exhibition 2018, Kerasan introduced its latest Nolita and Barrel bathroom collections. The first, inspired by the metropolitan area of New York, recalling the same style of the famous and trendy district, whilst the second was inspired by the industrial mood. Both product lines have been designed to suit contemporary living environments. The Nolita collection consists of floor-standing and wall-hung sanitary ware, 50, 60 and 70 cm suspended or countertop washbasins, rimless toilets equipped with the exclusive NO RIM water-saving system ensuring high standards of hygiene. The Barrel washbasins have been conceived for industrial style bathrooms. Made of fine fire clay, they feature an original shape (never seen before) that recalls oil barrels. A truly unconventional washbasin available in traditional glossy white and in four extra-matte colours: black, burgundy, hazel and ash. There are also some metallic finishes such as gold, pink gold, silver, bronze and rusty platinum which are available only on demand.
